The Japanese are wild about pachinko. Pachinko is something like a pinball machine. By pulling on a spring-loaded plunger, the pachinko player shoots metal balls up to the top of the brightly colored pachinko machine. The balls then cascade down again, racking up points depending on which levers they hit. But, unlike a pinball machine, there are no flippers to keep the balls in play.
